Wicked day driving!

Captains Log May 10 – What a day!  We managed to be on the road by 8:45 since it was pretty much just bring in the slides, secure what needed secured, check the truck

and go!  It started to drizzle just as we checked the truck and got on the road and luckily it had stopped before we got into the horrible traffic around Atlanta!  Yikes!  So much jockeying back and forth by drivers.  I was so relieved once we got past it all.  If we had gone through Atlanta rather than around we might still be there!

Lunch was planned during a fuel stop and along the way.  I had seen a Circle K Plaza billboard.  We were not sure if it would work for us but it was just like a Flying J or Pilot.  The good part is it was .23 per gallon cheaper!  Hope we continue to find those again on the way.  We got 70 gallons!

There was a bit of excitement along the way!  Traffic was backed way up at an exit ramp (that we needed to use) as there was an overturned tractor and  trailer.  We also were driving under the air traffic for the Altanta airport.

The stop for the night is in Carysville, TN at Cove Lake State Park.  Had we known how quiet and nice it is we would have booked 2 nights.  There were quite a few RV’s in our loop but mostly folks with no children so it’s pretty quiet.  We snagged a pull through for a quick get-a-way in the morning.  Only water and electric but we’re good!  There was a pair of Canadian Geese grazing in the commons where we can see them.  Bill did a walk about when he took our trash to the bins  and took some photos of our RV and the park.  Luckily the stop here was maybe a mile off the interstate!

Several couples walking the loop we’re on and slight road noise but mostly the sound of birds and nature at its best!
