Time to really hit the road!

Captains Log May 9 - We were both up pretty early and managed to get packed up and on the

Enjoyed these for miles

broad at 9:35.  We didn’t have a very long drive today, just 264 miles to Forsyth, GA.  It was not a very hot day out for which we were grateful as our dash AC died months ago and we decided not to spend the ridiculous amount it would cost to repair AGAIN.  Bill thought a portable AC unit would work so we got one before we left and fitted the exhaust to fit the passenger window.  It works REALLY well but one of the guys said he didn’t think it was a good idea to run it off of our inverter.  Bill reached out to our mobile RV tech this morning and he confirmed it is a no-no!  The good news is my small window unit in my work shop is not functioning very well and I have not been able to find one as small to fit the opening (It is not in a window) so we can use this instead!

Traffic wasn’t too bad today on the interstates but I enjoyed the driving thru the small rural towns with only 1 stop light!  The weather was good and as long as it doesn’t rain I’m happy!

We stopped tonight at a Wal-Mart.  Since we arrived about     and was able to pull along a curb where we could put the slides out on one side.  We could probably but them all out but it’s not totally level and we didn’t want to irritate the big slide.

We had a long 3 person go-round with DISH.  I won’t even go into it but if they don’t follow thru with things we will cancel our DISH at home and go with Spectrum and just keep it in the RV.  They use people from other countries who do no have a full grasp of the language or what we are referring to so the first girl a week ago screwed up the works and the first 2 I had today didn’t help so hope the last guy did.  So we do have TV service but not the local channels.  We have to count on the antenna or that and I didn’t have any luck here getting the networks we wanted.  Oh well!  Tomorrow is another day and we have plenty of books to read!
