Last day in Indiana

Captains Log May 20 – Pretty relaxing dull kind of day!  I made scones for breakfast and we

Last elk we saw

eventually got  showered  and dressed to head into Elkhart.  We  were  on  a mission  to  find a sewer hose.  Bill has looked at numerous Wal-marts along the way and today we went to Lazy Days  and  Bill said Wal-mart has more RV sup-plies than they do.  Then we stopped at one he had Googled and it was no longer in business.  So I Googled  again  and  found Johnson’s Dis-count Center so Bill called  and  asked and the guy  said  we  should have plenty.  So we went there and boy, you can find all kinds of parts for RV’s, from sinks and toilets, to AC covers, elec-trical harnesses, just about everything to fix what needs fixing.  Wish I had known before we had the toilet replaced!  They had a bunch and only $150.  They carry some other stuff unrelated to RV’s but one whole side was RV stuff.  I went ahead and bought a new ceiling light replacement for $4.  I don’t remember what the last one I had to have replaced cost but it was no where near $4.

With that task behind us, it was time to find a lunch spot.  Bill wanted to go to McAllisters, which was fine.  We sat out on the big patio and it was quite pleasant.  No rush, just relaxed and enjoyed the weather and our meal.

OK spot, bad neighbors and trash all over

After a stop for gas we were on the road back to Howe.  Bill was feeling a bit tired so he pulled over about half way and I drove home.  As we got closer I had to pass 3 different Amish buggies.  One total jerk was in a big hurry and there was oncoming traffic and he swerved around the buggy and barely missed the oncoming car!   Yikes!  I’m not that aggressive or in that big of a hurry to chance injuring anyone or anything!

We emptied the truck and Bill took a nap while I just relaxed a while.  I had taken out burgers for dinner and bought 2 nice ears of fresh corn and we had some leftover green beans.  That corn was so sweet!  It was a good meal and easy to make!

Bill’s friend that we were planning to see in Central Michigan on the way came to Maumee for the luncheon and as soon as he got home he called that they had to leave to go to their daughter’s.  Not sure what that was about but we changed our overnight stop to about half way between here and St. Ignace in the UP of Michigan.

Time for some dessert for before it gets too late.  Hope to have some wifi tomorrow so I have post the last 2 days!
