Another party is over

October 2 – That last drive home is always with mixed feelings! It's sad to say the party is over, but it's great to be back home with family and friends and lots of space! Instead of unloading some today and some tomorrow, I sent Bill with a truck load and Molly to unload at home while I loaded the rest. I did everything but the fridge.

Once Bill got back I handed him all that I had packed so far and then he took a breather while I did the fridge. I ended up having to use a few plastic bags to finish it off.

At home I handed down the bags and then he handed them back up to me on the porch landing. You literally could barely walk from the dining room into the rest of the house. We should have counted all the bags.

I tried to be systematic and did the fridge and freezer first. I worked my way through about 15 bags and called it a day! I will admit there must have been 4-5 bags of books that were left for last.

We were both tired puppies tonight but we sure do love our trips and the fun people we meet along the way. So time to sign off for another 6 months (covid allowing) and we will once again be “One the Road Again!”

Great friends and great food!

October 1 – Bill washed the front of the RV once we had our breakfast  and I started  bagging up things to take back into our house once we got home.  I had  bags all over. Once  Bill  had  finished his wash job he help up the end of the bed so I could get the 10 or so full  bags of  “precious  merchandise”   from under it. Boy, it was a big empty space again! I had a collection of things I was getting out of the RV and Christmas gifts, and of course some memorabilia!

Completed except for painting

After I put my new chicken recipe in the crockpot and went over and borrowed one from Sharon to put Chocolate Lava cake in as well. Then the 4 of us headed off to explore the park. There is a spring that runs through the park and we walked down the steep steps to the new “under construction” walkway and went as far as it went in one direction. We sat and enjoyed the peace and quiet of nature. We could see the headwater of the spring.

We drove around all of the camping areas and found an other loop

that could hold larger RV's. There was a short discussion on having a club rally there but later the ranger said we could if we could get spots reserved online! We drove along the lake and saw some wild life and areas they are replacing plants with former “natural to the area” plants. It was a lovely afternoon that concluded with visit time and transference of bags of books that we read or they read. Nice that we are all readers and can share them.

Bill and Bruce had gone up and bought 2 bundles of fire wood so Bruce started it as we were getting dinner on the table. Sharon did a veggies and delicious bread and Bill had wanted me to make

Last photo of a great summer!

marinated cole slaw which I had to do yesterday for it to marinate in time. Everything was delicious and no one left hungry. We sat by the fire for a while before attacking the lava cake. It was huge and sooo chocolaty! There was enough for them to have some for later and then when Bill and I got home we had it twice more!

Once the fire died down, so had we so we called it a night!
