June 7 – Unfortunately we had to get up early today as Bill had a
Podiatrist appointment in Charlottesville
at 9:15. The cell google maps took us to a different doctor's office with the
same number address and there was a suite number the same but it was not the
correct street. So I called to let them know we were lost and on our way. The
google maps did better the second time around and the staff was very nice about
it. The doctor was very laid back and friendly and we both liked him. He said
how really bad Bill's foot was from looking at the MRI we brought with us. He
didn't like the small boot the last Dr gave him and put him in a non flexible
walking boot but said he was to stay off of it at much as possible and to wear
the boot unless he was sleeping or showering. He needs to totally immobilize
the foot, not just part of it. He was extremely informative. He's to take Aleve
in the morning and ice it several times a day. Bill isn't crazy about the boot
but anything that will help with the pain, he's in favor of. It's quite swollen
also.
We had a few errands to do while in the “city”. Went to the mall to Bath and Body Works, then
to Staples to drop off a couple of ink cartridges. In their plaza I spotted a
used book store which we were excited about. I had a bag of 4 – 5 books to turn
in so that helped with the cost. We left with about 12 new books, so that
should continue to hold us for a while.
We tried to find the World Market but the gps gave the wrong address and
we saw it as we passed but couldn't get to it. So we decided to turn around in
a big classy plaza and they had a Panera, yea, perfect place for lunch. There
was no parking so I dropped Bill off to at least get us a table while I circled
and luckily found one just a block down. Then the line in Panera was the worst
I'd ever seen. The food was good as always and we enjoyed the break. I hiked
back for the car and picked Bill up. The lady in line in front of me had
confirmed the location of World Market so we backtracked to it. They had a
bunch of stuff on clearance and I'm a sucker for a deal, but I didn't go
overboard as we don't need all that. I did get a bag of pretzels, a bag of
jerky and a blackberry dark chocolate Lindt bar for .55. Of course my deals
were with my nephew's employee discount! I only bought 2 bottles of wine
though.
The entrance to the interstate was right beside World Market so we
hopped on and headed home. I decided to make a quick stop at Wal-mart for
Bill's Aleve and a reusable ice pack then we went home.
We got home around 2 so I had time to do a load of laundry and clean up
2 days of dishes that I'd let get behind. We wrote postcards and relaxed. I had
promised Bill I would make chicken enchiladas for dinner but realized I didn't
have sour cream. So I used leftover chicken and made chicken and dumplings with
fresh broccoli and will go to the store tomorrow and make enchiladas tomorrow
night.
Tonight was Persons of Interest, with the sexy Mr. Reese!
