August 17 – Colder
this morning. Bill even gut up during
the night and turned the heater up. I
slept really good for a change, I think I was finally warm enough. Molly laid at the foot of the bed right in
front of the heater all night.
We got up earlier
than normal and drove into Stuart’s Draft to the bakery. It was rather disappointing. They had breads, pies and cookies but Bill
was hoping for donuts or Danish. We
didn’t get anything for us but got some cinnamon rolls for the 2 summer
seasonals at the front gate and a small loaf of cinnamon raisin bread for Fred
and Linda. Bill wanted some breakfast so
we went to Hardees for his and when we got home I had grits. I called Kerry while we were in town and got
caught up on things with our parents.
Mom has dropped out of the Alzheimer’s study. Not what we wanted but dad is pretty much not
in favor. He just doesn’t understand it
all so that’s that.
Our crazy grill |
There was only one
site to rake so Bill did that while I ate and then we cleaned the
bathhouse. It wasn’t bad at all since it
cold no one takes all those showers. I
made the ganache for later. After lunch
we both went to do some email and I made sure I had my power cord. Bill also took his book in case he didn’t
last as long as me on the computer. We
left in time to get showered to go into Waynesboro
for dinner.
We ate at El Puerto
and it was very good. The salsa was not
the best but I loved my shrimp cocktail, just as good as Taquitos. Bill enjoyed his fajitas. My margarita was terribly lacking but the
service and food made up for it. Bill
even brought home leftovers.
We did our usual
loop walk and said our good byes to some of the campers who will be leaving in
the morning. It’s supposed to be colder
again tonight and rainy tomorrow and we have a lot of sites to rake. Ugh, there goes the hip.
“Mamma Mia” was on
and we watched it and sang along.
