Broken feeder |
August 7 – Just had cereal this morning so we could get our sites and
bathhouses done. Still didn’t get an
early start. You just can’t turn the TV
on and move as quickly! That’s Bill I
mean. I don’t watch it in the
mornings. We looked out side and
something had broken our regular bird feeder.
Most of what was in it was eaten but we had some squirrels eating the
sunflower seeds that were still on the ground.
We thought it was a raccoon or something.
We had 4 sites but only 3 were vacated and basically only needed
raked. The bathrooms take longer. Today I sprayed and cleaned all the walls of
the stalls and got down all the cobwebs.
I think that will be one of my weekly tasks. The rest was not bad. They sure use a lot of toilet paper. My two stalls each hold 8 rolls. I filled them yesterday and today had to
replace 5 rolls and several were almost empty.
Then there are those who don’t seem to be able to hit the trash can
right beside the toilet with their trash and are too lazy to pick it up. It’s appalling.
While we were cleaning a lady told us there was a black bear at their
site last night and it tore up everything on their picnic table. That answered who broke the bird feeder. We walked over to Loop B hosts, Fred and
Glenda and visited for an hour or so. He
told us to bring the feeders in at night.
They are from Brooksville. This
is their first time volunteering.
Bill's squirrels |
Bill was hungry so we headed home for lunch. After we ate I put Molly outside in her hut
to watch the birds and squirrels and I worked on my photos on the laptop and
typed some in my journal. Bill went to
the work shop to get some split wood to use cooking our dinner. Later Bill joined us and we both sat and read
until time to start a fire in our grill pit.
We got our fire going and Bill grilled hot links and thick sliced
bologna. His favorites. We had picnic fixins and ate out at our
picnic table like the rest of the campers.
Once we cleaned up I took the laptop to the Admin office to do some
email and postings, but it was not to be.
No signal. I tried rebooting the
modem and router, but no luck. I finally
gave up and came home. It drizzled a
little before I left and our fire was about out when I got back. Bill had brought in the bird feeders, even
though the one was broken.
We watched our shows and went to bed.
