June 2 – I had a call from work
at 7:30 this morning, I had just looked at the clock and turned over, but
diligently got up and took the call. So
now I was wide awake and ready for my first cup of coffee! Bill came out shortly after and once we
finished breakfast we kinda chilled a while before our walk. We drove around yesterday to check some
distances in the campground and we did 2 miles this morning. The mile back was longer as it was mostly
uphill. I wore a long sleeve t-shirt for
my weeding project later and I was HOT!
We had just gotten back and
having a beverage when Jason, our ranger, called. He stopped by shortly after to bring garbage
bags and a rake we requested. Later he
brought white paint for tomorrrow’s project.
I spent about an hour finishing the bulk of the weeding and Bill raked
another area and then picked up 2 big garbage bags of my labors. Luckily again today the cleaning people for
the campground came by as we finished and he hauled our bags to the dumpsters.
While I was dirty and sweaty I
finished cleaning the picnic table and put an old tablecloth on that would be
easier to wipe than the grooved table top.
Time for lunch! Bill made my salad while I showered! Yum!
By the time he was showered and I put a load of laundry it, it was 2:30
before we left for McDonald’s. I should
have brought my old battery so maybe I could charge both so I’d have more
computer time. Oh well! We did our thing and got home just after 5.
It was too warm in the RV because
we hadn’t put the window awnings down so I went outside to read for a
while. Kerry brought the part we needed
for our grill so Bill grilled some chicken and hot links and I made Waldorf
salad and an Italian style vegetable salad.
We ate outside where it was cool and sat and read for a while when we
finished. It was nice and very
relaxing. We watched the blue jay, the
rabbit and one of the hummers came by a couple of times.
Time to journal and do some
posting, then maybe read a while!
