Happy Birthday Jean!

July 10 – Happy Birthday Jean!

The power must have gone off during the night as the clock was flashing this morning.  No storm so not sure what happened.  We did our walk and it’s not getting any easier!  Time to shrub attack!  We stopped by the neighbors who got the new RV last week and went yesterday to have the hitch put in their truck.  They were out looking into the truck bed.  She was trying to explain to him how it works.  She’s 76 and he’s 81.  She gave me a tour of their new rig and she is so proud of it.  She said it’s nicer than their house!

We spend another 2 hours working with the shrubs and Bill borrowed our neighbors folding step stool that was taller than ours but still could not reach the tops.  He said if no one brings us a ladder by the time we’re done, they’ll just all have little spike haircuts!  Some guy came by with a front end loader who helped Bill fill his bucket with trimmings and he hauled them off someplace.  We think he was coming back for another load but we were done for the day by then.  Two hours in the heat is really about all our bodies and shoulders can take with the clippers.  I am over half way around my second section but learned to work from the bottom and am not being quite as “aggressive” as I was.  We agree they need to be trimmed back much more but if we do they will be ugly the rest of the summer.  One the rangers drove by and hollered out it was looking good!

The afternoon was spent doing laundry and Bill cleaned the bathroom, took the trash to the dumpster and drove our walking route to check the distance.  I did my journal, finished my book and looked at a new recipe I want to make but didn’t have all the ingredients.  Bill offered to go to the store as it’s a chocolate tart but I said we’d wait until we go in tomorrow.

At least the front cover are on!
After dinner we tried to put the back seat cover on the car and for the life of us we could not get the back headrests out.  Bill got out the book and they should have popped out just like the front did, but we didn’t want to break anything so decided to wait and stop by the Ford dealer in town tomorrow.

Bill decided the bush at our site
needed a bit of trimming
We sat outside and watched people drive by and watched for the deer.  Two came by.  Bill commented that there are no mosquitoes.  It was dusk by then and so nice out and no, there were not any mosquitoes.  Nothing like Florida!  Maybe if we were closer to the water?
