June 28 – I made a good Sunday
breakfast and then we headed back to Sugarloaf.
Bill asked if I wanted to go to the summit again and I was adamant,
“NO”. Once is enough for me! Instead we did the perimeter walk of 1.4
miles around the base. We were under the
impression it was all pretty level but it was up and down and more challenging
than we expected. We stopped at the old
car that’s turned over in the woods. We
can’t figure out how anyone got that car that far into the woods. It was a good workout and maybe next Sunday
we will do the last walk out to the pond.
Once we got back I went out and
finished my weeding job. No mulch was
delivered so that was it for us for the day.
Bill will do the mulch if they ever bring more. He did some “chores” while I was out. I made 2 fresh peach cobblers with the last
of the peaches I bought last week. I put
a small one in the freezer and we’ll eat on one for a couple of days. Yum!
I did some work on manuals for
work and a load of laundry. Nothing
exciting for a Sunday afternoon. I’m
glad I’ve finished my outdoor work for the park. It’s getting hotter by the day and I think
the chiggers are getting worse. We watch
the traffic coming and going from the park and are still amazed at the number
of pontoon boats we see.
