June 1 – Neither of us slept well
last night.  Bill was kicking and I just
could not go to sleep and then woke up at 4 and at 7 I got up and went to the
little couch until 8.  We eventually went
for a walk but not along one.  We met a
man who has got to Alaska
twice in an RV and wants to go again.
He’s 75 now and says he better go before he can’t.  I would love to find another couple to go
with next summer!  Any takers out
there?  Bill would insist it be someone
“handy” as he is not.
I weeded a lot of the flower
garden by the gatehouse and Bill picked up 4 bags of weeds etc.  I still have more to do so maybe will finish
it tomorrow.  I left a message for our
ranger so we can work out a definite schedule so we can make plans for our
weeks here.  We might take Molly on a
road trip to Branson.  I’m sure she would
love to see a show!
After lunch and showers we drove
over to Conway .  It’s about 40 miles.  That’s the way we will leave for I-40 in July
and Bill wanted to check the route for the RV.
It’s a college town of pretty good size.
We picked up some tomatoes and cukes at a roadside stand and stopped for
an ice cream at McDonald’s and checked another automotive shop and a big shoe
Mall.  I got another pair of Tom’s.  I hate spending the money but Bill said I
can’t take it with me.  His real fear is
listening to me whine later that I wish I had bought the shoes.  They are burlap!  Very different.

We stopped at Wally World for
more veggies as we do eat a lot of them, then it was head for home.  I had baked sweet potatoes before we left so
it was fast to grill pork chops on George and sauté some pencil asparagus and
dinner was ready.  I was starved and
could have eaten more asparagus but I only cooked half.
Kam called and we talked about
some activities for her visit later this month.
I’m sure we will cram a lot into 3 days!
She never mentioned fishing!
