Work, work and more more!

July 7 – 8 -  Nothing exciting over the past 2 days, just work.  I sure hope these first 2 weeks of working are not the standard for our 2 months.  It is pretty much non-stop for Sue and I in the office/Laundromat.  The phone rings constantly and people come in as late as 7pm looking for a spot for the night.  We have been booked solid every night since we arrived although we have had a few no shows.  It’s just so unbelievable that 3 couples would drive to Yellowstone in 3 RV’s without reservations in July AND want to park together.  I had a 3 couple group that I worked with on the phone who were tickled to get one night, with hopes of getting 2 more once they arrived.  Normally they would be moving every night but due to cancellations and no shows, two couples moved after one night for the next 2 nights and one couple got to stay in the same spot all 3 nights.  That is certainly not the norm.

My poor feet and back are so tired and sore after spending close to 10 hours a day on them.  The most I’ve sat at one time was each day at lunch we get to go home since we are working with another couple.  I know she is enjoying the break also since she is alone on Thursdays and was by her self since mid-May.  Plus there is the cleaning and dealing with the Laundromat and selling ice and propane.

Bill is doing better at pacing himself, especially since it has warmed up a bit, but nothing like Florida.  We still don’t need AC at night and during the day mostly we run the bedroom for Molly.  Bill did more mowing this week than last and he does love to mow grass.  He comes in for breaks and to share my water.  By the time I get off he’s home and either in the shower or done.

Luckily I’ve managed to have leftovers for both nights this week.

We sure meet some nice people from all over.  I got to meet and chat with 2 of the girls staying here that work the rodeo about 7 miles towards Yellowstone from us.  One does barrel racing and some other trick riding and one works concessions and barrel racing.  One is from Canada, both really nice girls.  Bill met one of the rodeo announcers that are here.  We’re talking about going one night for something different to do.

We’ve had some short showers but no really bad weather, yet!  They had snow here in June so we hope it’s not an EARLY winter.
