Peaceful day

July 9 – Nice semi-leisurely day!  Nice big breakfast and then we did laundry, cleaned the floors, ironed (well, not Bill), put stuff away that starts cluttering the space and rested.

We walked this morning and looked for the oil cap to the lawn mower that came off while Bill was mowing yesterday.  No luck!  Stopped and visited with one of the seasonal couples.  Nice people from Texas.  He showed of photos of when he goes salmon fishing for a week, huge King salmon.  Wish he'd bring us one back!  His wife cans it and they enjoy it all winter.

Later in the afternoon we got showered and eventually left for dinner.  The neighbors said the Chinese place 7 miles up the road was pretty good so we went there.  Seating was a little slow but they had plenty of tables.  The food was good and nice portions.

After dinner we drove around back in what we thought was going to be woods but there was a golf course, driving range, condos and houses in a nice neighborhood there.  Pretty much seems to be seasonal homes.  All very nicely maintained.

The road goes on around and loops back out and we realized that it was the road that 2
Big Springs, no moose, but a nice bird!
years ago we came from the other direction and when it became gravel, Bill turned around.
So we did the loop and in the middle of the loop is Big Springs where we saw the moose last week.  Alas, no moose tonight.

The Chinese place isn't much on dessert so we stopped for ice cream but the place was closed and they were inside cleaning and stacking the chairs so they could mop.  So we crossed the road and I checked in at Connie’s and they had some pies and ice cream so we each had a dish of huckleberry ice cream.  Nice end to the evening.

Once we got home Bill went over to visit the neighbors who were sitting outside.  It was chilling off so I headed in and started on bill paying and journalling.  Before Bill came in he emptied our full gray tank so we won’t have a flood tomorrow!

Time to read a while before bed.
