July
2 – Happy Birthday Darlene and Mike!
A
MUCH needed day of rest! Of course we
slept in, but being Sunday I made bacon, eggs, fruit and scones. Then we just sat and chilled a bit longer.
Time
for a load of laundry and changing the bed, vacuuming, cleaning out stuffed
drawers, airing the compartment that got so wet from when we were in Bozeman
(still don’t know the full cause), finding homes for stray items, putting up
our outdoor decorations and hanging one birdfeeder (found out we didn’t bring
my tall hangers). Bill got a hand mower
and mowed our lot.
Enough
physical labor for today! I posted some
blogs and paid some bills and got some birthday cards ready for the mail. We watched some TV and finally got our
showers and decided to venture in to West Yellowstone
(the town). Luckily we found street
parking on the main drag so we checked out some shops and discussed where to
have dinner. Settled on The Slippery
Otter where we’d eaten before. There was
a short wait and we opted for seats at the bar rather than wait longer for a
table. It turns out the barmaid is the
wife of the guy who served us there 2 years ago. They have a motorhome and work here 6 months
and then travel the other 6. They’re
young, maybe early 30’s. I had a
delicious and huge Greek Salad with grilled chicken. Bill had a BLT Chicken salad and we were
stuffed. Of course, we’re never too stuffed for ice cream, as it takes up no space since it just melts down and
around the rest of your meal!
It
was beginning to chill down so we headed back to Island Park . We got home just in time to see the last part
of the season finale of one of our favorite summer shows, The Good Witch.
