5 days off!!!!!

July 16 – I forgot to mention that yesterday Bill made a meatloaf for our dinner and put it in the oven so it would be ready when we got off.  Nice job, but I’m half way sure he did it because he loves meatloaf!

It poured and the wind blew last night!  Bill was in bed and I heard metal clanking near the front of the RV on the driver side.  I couldn’t see anything from inside and didn’t want to wake Bill so left it for this morning.  After breakfast Bill was going to wash the RV and the car and I was going on the roof to replace the other radio antenna before it got hot out.  I looked around again for what I heard last night and realized it was the power post with the junction box.  The lid wouldn’t totally close with our surge protector in it so I got a bungee and secured it.

I did 2 loads of laundry and changed the bed and did the floors, the normal Sunday for us for a while.  I put away and reorganized a few things/places.  I am continually trying to create space where there is none.  I took a break here and there to rest, have a drink and pet Molly.  I moved our big rug and moved the sliding base I made for the recliners so you can rest your feet on it.   I think we need a smaller area rug or more area!

After lunch I talked to my friend Betty for an hour and got caught up on people and places.  I turned on the computer but wasn’t quite motivated enough to sit down at it.  I talked to my sister for about 30 minutes and caught up on mom, work and her trip to CO this past week.  I need to work on my shopping list as I missed writing down some things last week.  I miss being able to call Bill at baseball practice and ask him to stop on his way home for this and that.  Oh well, adjustments are a daily thing when you’re on the road.

I showered while Bill folded clothes and it sounded like rocks hitting the roof in the bathroom.  I came out and asked if it was hailing and sure enough, it was!  Ice pieces about ¼ inch or larger.  We stood at the front window watching them hit the car and I knew what was going through Bill’s mind.  Luckily the hail didn’t get any larger and stopped and turned into rain.  Much safer for the car AND the RV.  By the time we were ready to leave for dinner the sun was out and the rain was gone but it had turned considerably cooler out.

We drove into Island Park to a place called “Connie’s”.  Bill had a stuffed steak, which was a big hamburger stuffed with peppers and cheese with a side of spaghetti.  We both had salads and the meal came with sweet cornbread and honey butter.  I went with grilled halibut and a baked potato, which I had intended to take home.  I was kind of hungry, so the potato bit the dust!

Once we got home we had quick showers on and off and hopefully that’s it for the night.  We’re trying to figure out our plans for tomorrow, maybe we’ll drive down to Jackson Hole and drive up through the Tetons.
