Lunch out with friends

July 8 –  I had planned to do some weeding at the apartment this morning but Kerry called that we needed a battery backup at work and asked if I could go get one.  So I went ahead and got showered and went to Best Buy.  I just left it on her porch to take back to work after lunch as we were leaving at 11:30 for lunch with our friends, Ron and Barbara.

We met Ron and Barbara in Lakeland at Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grill.  It’s a Cajun place and Bill and I have been and I’d been a couple of times with my girlfriends.  It took us about an hour and we met at 1.  The lunch crowd was basically over so that was nice.  We all enjoyed our meal and catching up time.  They took back roads from Venice just for a change of pace.  We talked about doing some summer camping together if Bill doesn’t get the go ahead for us to get back on the road.  They’ve had some health issues and seem to be on the tail end of them so they’re going to see more of Sunny Florida and aim at real travel next year.  It’s always so good to see them.  Too bad they live so far away!

Since we didn’t get home until after 4, I didn’t plan to do anything major.  Jared was running late getting back from a job so I went over at 5 so the sitter could leave but he got home within 30 minutes.  Then I just piddled with some things in the garage and yard as it was cooling off a bit.

Since we ate a bit late and it was a big meal I had warned Bill there would be no “dinner” tonight.  We settled in to watch TV and later I made some plain popcorn in a paper bag in the microwave.  That was it for the day!
