Doctoring for Bill and Molly

July 14 – Another busy day!  Bill had to be at the podiatrist at 8:30 so I dropped him off then Molly had a drop off appointment with the vet between 9 and 1, so I dropped her off.  I went by Fastenal to pick up the lynch pins we ordered but the clerk was out to make a delivery so there was no one there.  Bill called that he was ready but I told him I needed to stop at Advanced Auto first for hi-temp grease for the bird feeder.  He was ready to go when I got there.  His doctor gave him the go ahead for a month along with some exercises for his foot and toes.  He has hammertoes and may have to have them operated on after his foot is better.

His eye has been bothering him since the day it was swollen shut and he wanted to stop by the eye doctor and see when he could get in.  Luckily they said to bring him right in.  It took a while but he got in and was told the cataract on that eye is now bad enough to be removed and gave him a referral.

We went home for lunch and to discuss our options.  He’d love to get his eye
The little man playing on Grandpa's walker
done right away but in calling found he has to have a consult and then set the surgery so we opted to schedule that for the same week as his foot appointment and get back on the road for a month.  I made a run to Harbor Freight for a mechanics rolling stool for Bill to use in the RV instead of the knee walker.  Then I went by Publix for the world famous Snapple!  The vet called that Molly was ready.  They did an x-ray this morning and another this afternoon to make sure her food was moving through properly as she has been having some frequent and huge hair balls these 2 weeks.  They didn’t find any issues so we’re going to be changing her food and see if that helps.  I give her hairball paste but it’s not working so well lately.

Molly and I stopped at Fastenal and picked up the lynch pins, then dropped off a paper at the bank and headed home.  Molly got to lay around and rest from her morning ordeal but I changed my clothes and loaded two loads of old sod into my rolling cart and filled in a big area over at the apartment.  I cleaned the apartment and put out the fresh linens and have it all ready for tonight’s guest to arrive.

Jared was going to be a little late so I took Jude home with me and he played with Bill until Jared got there.  He’s such a fun little guy.  I made dinner and read for a while.
