July 16 – Moving Day! Today we were to re-locate to our new summer
job. They didn’t have check in until 11
so we had breakfast and tidied up a bit.
Later we went to the post office to get stamps and to see if we could
re-route a priority mail packet from Kam.
The postal clerk was very nice said it should be fine.
Since Bill’s allergy meds had
arrived at the Ranger’s Station we needed to go pick it up, but he didn’t want
to go in and get it in case our problem person, Susan, was there. I told him how to handle her if she said
anything, but he still wasn’t in favor of going in, so I had to do it. Luckily, there was another person at the
counter and the same guy, Jack, who we spoke to on Tuesday was working and he
recognized me right away. I told him we
might get one more piece of mail and he asked me if I’d like him to call when
it came and I told him that would be great.
He is very nice and a big improvement over having to deal with Susan.
We went back and packed up and
unhooked and drove the RV to Valley View RV Park, maybe 2 miles away. They were ready for us so we got parked, set
up, cleaned the RV, put a load of laundry in, had lunch and went over to
discuss our hours and get better acquainted.
They were so busy that Bill went home after almost 2 hours and I was
there another hour. I observed a lot
that would make my work there easier and we discussed hours and days. We ended up with Fridays and Saturdays from
7:30 AM to 7:00 PM. We were not crazy
about the long days but since it was only 2 days it was a good deal for
us.
The rest of the afternoon I did
some stuff for work and we had a late dinner about 7. They have wifi but it’s not a continuous
strong signal so will be a bit of a challenge loading photos and posting my
journal.
We got to bed by 11 since we work
tomorrow and it’s sure to be a long first day.
