Back to Searcy 1 last time!

July 3 – Only 3 days left to departure!  Once again it was raining on and off when we got up so no walking again!  This rain is getting old and I’m sure the people camping who were going to sleep in hammocks last night weren’t too pleased either!

We left at 10:45 for Searcy but on the way dropped off the rest of the tools we had at our site that belong to the campground.  The office was closed but we did track down a ranger in the day use area and gave them to him.  Then we headed on our way to Searcy.

We arrived at Debbie’s house just before noon and visited a bit then headed out in her car.  She gave us a tour of the housing development, pointing out the oldest areas and some of the newer places.  One section had been in Southern Living magazine and it’s a little row of cabins that are really small and close together, but adorable.  They were all very well kept and right on the golf course.  We had a delicious bbq lunch at the club house and I think we did a good job of entertaining Debbie with stories!  She had some good laughs and we enjoyed our time with her.  She treated us to the local made ice cream, Yarnell’s, back at her house and then we said our good-byes.  We hope she gets to Florida when we are home so we can share more stories and laughs!

I dropped Bill off at the movie theatre to see “Ted 2”.  Since I had no desire to see the first “Ted’, there was no way I was going to waste 2 hours of my life on this one!  The parking lot was pretty full!  I hope they were not all there for Ted!

I went to the fabric store and bought more netting for my scrubbies, and was looking for a couple of things in Wal-mart with no luck.  That place was SO busy!  I was glad to get out of there and the parking lot.  I went downtown to see the Yarnell factory, checked out some health food stores, looked for the Starbucks (Google led me to the Harding University campus and was probably inside but I didn’t want it bad enough to park and go hunting), stopped in a thrift store looking for books with no luck and got back to the theatre with about 15 minutes to spare.

Bill enjoyed his movie but I didn’t dare ask about it or I’d have to hear ALL about it!  He wanted to take the car to be washed so we did and he vacuumed it and we headed home.

He asked on the way what was for dinner and I really did not have a plan.  I made sure I had a nice lunch as I hadn’t taken anything out for dinner.  I ended up making half of a spaghetti squash and on his there was leftover sauce and 1 meatball and fresh parmesan cheese and on mine I put some butter and cheese and I had sliced salami on the side.  Nothing fancy but it did the job!

It rained some more before we left for work so we took our jackets.  Didn’t need them but that was OK.  It was a busy night, people still looking for campsites on the holiday weekend.  One couple had reservations and I told her she was at the wrong place and it was going to be after 10 by the time they got to the right campground and they needed the gate code.  Fortunately a ranger came by and said they didn’t have a gate there so they went on their way.  We sent people to a guy outside of the park for firewood, good thing Bill knew where he was as that was the second ones we’ve sent.  We had calls about the fireworks tomorrow night and questions about where they could see the “practice” fireworks tonight.  We could hear some but no one had told us so we had no idea what to tell them.  I guess tomorrow will be a crazy day for sure!
