First Day on the New Job!

July 17 -  Well, it was pretty nippy out this morning so I left with a sweater and Bill thought he was warm enough but went back later for a sweatshirt.

Bill cleaned the showers and restrooms and checked sites for vacancies and once he was done with those assigned tasks he got out a weed eater and went to town with it.  The people who do the mowing really only mow so Bill will probably be busy the rest of the summer with weeding and weed eating.

For me it was busy in spurts.  I learned all about the cash register today and cleaned a lot of washing machines after each use, took several reservations over the phone, refunded key deposits, signed in guests arriving and at the end of the day I balanced to the penny!  Just like any place else everything happens at once.  So it would be super busy and then lull off and I’d check my email and messages.  All in all it was a very good day.  We met more family members today.  The owners have 5 children and so far 3 are here for a few days and I think 6 grand children and 2 great grandchildren.  They are having a mini-family reunion tomorrow.

Bill has outlined our activities for the next week, but I have a lot of other stuff to do so we can’t go to Yellowstone 2-3 times a week!

I was glad to see 7:00 roll around, then I had to balance and we took the flags down so we got home at about 7:30.  I made a quick dinner of brats, broccoli and a lettuce wedge.  While it was cooking I put brownies in the oven and when those came out I made some oatmeal blueberry muffins for the next couple of mornings.  We’re getting up 15 minutes earlier tomorrow as Bill said he was too rushed this morning.  At least half of breakfast will be ready!
