Dinner and a Movie

July 5 - Bill's day to work at Ferry Hill and mine to work at home. I went up with him and he dropped me off at Lock 38 and I did the 3 miles ride in about 20 minutes. Not fast by any means but I was still plenty tired. I stopped at the pump to make sure it had been repaired and it was working fine, so proceeded home and rested a bit with a beverage.

My first task was to finish dumping the tanks that Bill started before he left. I couldn't shut one of the valves so he had to close it when he got home. Then I started my real summer task of taking the decal off the passenger side of the RV. I have the replacement one the manufacturer sent when the first part cracked by the window. I never used it because I thought they were only sending that part but they sent a whole one that we have to cut and put on. I talked to my tech guy before we left and he said he could put it on so I decided it would be my summer project to take the old one off. What a job! It will take the whole summer. You use a hair dryer to heat the area, then a plastic scraper to quickly scrape it, then repeat the process over and over. I can only work on it in the mornings before the sun comes over or I'll roast to death. Today I did about 2.5 inches starting with the widest part. Then I used Goo Gone to get the glue residue off. Hope I haven't gotten in over my head.

I'd take a break and go inside in the AC and do my inside chores, like dishes and finished typing yesterday's journal. I hurried to get my shower before Bill walked in so I'd be ready to head to Martinsburg for the movie. We used Bill's gift card from Kam for Fandango to see The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp. What a disappointment! The story was changed and it made the Lone Ranger look like a doofball and Tonto a clown. It was funny but the young people that see it won't really know the western storybook hero like he was.

We had coupons for dinner at Ruby Tuesday that we enjoyed. We stopped a couple of places to find a better plastic scraper and on the way home we stopped at Shepherdstown at the ice cream shop, The Mountaineer. Like Nutter's they give huge portions at a good price. I only got a kiddie portion and Bill for a Regular.
As soon as we pulled in the driveway two rangers pulled in behind us. They joked with us about our streakers last night. So far we don't know if they contacted the vehicle owner or anything. We walked the camp and only had 3 empty spaces, so pretty much a full house. Nothing new on TV so we both read.

No late night knocks on the door!
