Photo Time

August 5 – It was a tiring day today. I made turkey sausage, eggs and fruit for breakfast. Then at work Brenda had to run an errand and brought us all back an ice cream sandwich. Yum! That was my treat for the day. Then Barbara, the Head Ranger, brought us all a water bottle with the Navajo State Park on it. Bill was jealous, but maybe the hosts will all get one before we leave, and I’ll have two! It must have thrown me off track as I ended up being $3 over for the day. I guess I didn’t give someone their change from a $10 bill. So I’ve made $13 for the park so far this summer.

Bill drove the shuttle from 9 – noon this morning so didn’t do any site cleaning. We were going to clean them after lunch, but Terry asked if all the volunteers could meet at Tiffany camp at 3 for a photo. Rather get all sweaty and then go for pictures, we opted to just have lunch then relax and read until 3.

We got a late start as one of the couples was late getting back from errands. We stood out at a point overlooking Navajo Lake, it’s a beautiful site. There wasn’t much organization to the whole deal, we just stood and someone snapped. I had them get a couple on my camera also. The girl from the office who wanted the photo to send to Denver must have taken 50 shots.

Sadly we had to come home and change and go clean 20 sites, most with firepits. I was so nasty dirty. Of course the wind doesn’t blow until you raise the fire ring and start to shovel ashes, then they’re all over you. It was so hot out and we were pooped when we got done. I was so glad I planned on leftovers for dinner. Bill finished off the meatloaf and I had leftover carne adovado. Needless to say, we didn’t do anything else but walk Xena and watch our Sunday shows on TV.
