Another month slips by

August 1 – Can’t believe it’s August already. Another month and we’ll be packing up and headed for home. I made bacon and fruit this morning to go with the muffins. Bill left at 9 and I left shortly after to ride my bike to the office and get our ONE reservation. I stopped by Marion and Jerry’s and gave them 4 muffins.

When I got back I drove an older couple in our camp to the marina to go fishing so they wouldn’t have to unhook and drive their Class A. I gave them my number to call when they were ready to come back. Then I cleaned the one vacant site and picked up trash and did some weeding. Terry had the sprinklers running again so the weeding will be ongoing for sure.

The plan was for me to be here when the washer tech came, but I thought I’d call just to make sure he was coming and the owner told me our part is back ordered. I asked if they thought he’d be out next week and the reply was maybe by the end of the month. Then she said maybe not until September. I told her would be leaving the week of Labor Day and asked if they could order the part elsewhere. She thinks it’s a problem from the factory but some other supplier could have it. So I sorted my laundry and got it ready to take up later this afternoon.

Bill got home about 1 and we had lunch, then I started making my red chili sauce carne adovado. Once you make the sauce you pour it over cubed lean pork and slow bake for 3 hours until the meat is tender. Once I got that going I put on a pot of my anasazi beans to cook and then made them into refried beans and finished it off with brown rice. The red sauce was kinda hot but Bill ate it and said it was all really good but it could be a little less hot to suit him. I put some of the beans and some of the adovado in containers to take over to Marion. He brought us over 4 jalapeno corn muffins he made. Actually there were 2 plain and 2 peppers. I think he sent the plain ones for Bill.

Bill took our Mule up to Harlan to use tomorrow as he will come clean our 4 vacates tomorrow and take care of Xena. He’ll also have to do any sites in Tiffany for Newell. We watched TV and looked up of places to go to next summer.
