August 4 – Back to the normal hum drum days! I worked in the office this morning. I made pan waffles for breakfast and used some leftover blueberries and a peach for a compote to put over the them. It was a nice change from syrup. I snuck 2 of Bill’s brownies to take Karen and Brenda this morning. They said they wanted more. Not this go ‘round!
Bill picked me up at 1 and he had done what sites vacated and we had lunch. Then I read for a while and later we used both computers to research places to go next summer. It takes a long time and a lot of places are not posted yet but you are wise to go ahead and apply or at least ask if they will be having any openings.
Before I knew it, it was almost 6. Bill lit the grill and cooked salmon for me, burgers for him and a chicken breast for my lunch tomorrow. I made a small waldorf salad that we both had and he had potato salad from the store, and I had some fresh steamed snow peas. We took Xena for a better walk than she’s had lately as the camp was pretty empty on our side. Then we let her ride with us to Rosa camp to ask Marion to get us a Sunday paper tomorrow when he gets his.
As soon as we put Xena inside we got on the bikes and rode our camp loop and then down to Tiffany camp and road theirs. We should do it every day. I had just sat so much at work and home that I felt like lubing up the joints a bit. When we got back I loaded software that Marion loaned us that’s put out by Good Sam Trailer Life. It should help with locations of places and routing.
We watched some of the Olympics and got our showers as I have work again in the morning and Bill might be driving shuttle at 9 for 3 hours, and then doing some of our sites. We don’t have any new arrivals for tomorrow so some we can leave for Monday. We have 20 leaving tomorrow and that’s a lot. We looked into going to the National Good Sam Rally in Daytona in November, but haven’t finalized on a decision. I posted the Chaco blog with lots of photos and need to get my Durango photos ready so I can post that one tomorrow.
