June 1 – When I got up at 7:30 it
was 45 out. By the time we left for work
at 8:45 the sun was out and it had warmed up so I left in capris and Bill in
shorts. I worked with Pam, the owner,
and Barb and Barb and I thoroughly cleaned the rec hall. We even cleaned the 2 pool table tops. The owners were very impressed. We didn’t leave anything for Joe to do when
he arrived at 2.
Bill and Ron ran out of work at 1
so just scrounged up something to keep busy another hour.
It was a beautiful day out! We walked our short walk home and Bill showered
and we had lunch and left for a new town of shopping. Eventually maybe we will have all the things
we want for the RV. I had a return for
Target and Ron gave Bill directions.
It’s in Dayville. There’s also a
Michaels, Staples, Petco, Grocery, Bed Bath and Beyond in addition to several
small shops and eateries. We found a
possible rug, and one more tray for the silverware drawer but still no dish
rack. We stopped at the grocery and the
prices are just so high. Fortunately I
had signed up for their discount card and did get some savings on the produce
and lunchmeat. I am keeping track of
what days the farmers markets are in what towns so we can go depending on our
days off.
On the way back we stopped in Arlington at the oldest
remaining building in CT. It was built
in 1751 as a meeting hall and is now a church.
It was locked so we couldn’t go in, but it’s just a very simple and
plain building that looks like an old meeting place.
Further up the road on the way
back we stopped at “Frog Rock”. It only
looks like a frog from one side. Whoever
owns the rock has a small antique shop beside it and a food
trailer. There were quite a few people there for as
late as it was.

We got home at 6:30 and I got
dinner started while putting things away and see if what we bought was the
right “stuff”. Oh well, more stuff to
return. I just keep it in the car so
wherever we go next we are ready. After
dinner we took a walk to take the trash down and walked the entire park and
then stopped by to say HI to Ron and Barb.
They live on the lower level. We
stood out and talked until the mosquitoes got so back we headed home. I showered and Bill did dishes so we’re good
to go for tomorrow.
Not enough wifi strength to read
email or do any posting so guess I’ll have to bring it up again. Ugh!
Where was the elderly sign?
