June 5 – What a nasty day! I woke to rain at 7 and it didn’t stop until
at least 4. Rain wouldn’t be so bad but
here it’s very damp and cold when it rains.
We decided not to spend the day out driving in the rain so we just
stayed in. For me that was
literally. I never got out of my pajamas
until it cleared off and we went for our campground walk at 7. You could say we were lazy bums and for the
most part we were, but I did make seat covers for the driver and companion
seats in front. Before we left I bought
2 big nice thick towels that matched the chairs and tried clipping them on but
that wasn’t working. Bill suggested I
get another towel and attach it to the top and make it slide down over the back
of the seat. The second Wal-Mart we
tried had the same towels and color so I got one and it was the perfect day for
the project. Turned out nice. I could only hand sew them so when we get home
I will re-sew on the machine.
Back |
I read an entire book, downloaded
and resized photos and took a long nap!
Aah that was nice. Then I ordered
tickets for the Boston-Cleveland game June 12.
We had hoped to take 2 days to go but that would have meant 2 trades for
us so we are just going for the day. Bill
eventually went to the post office. We
expected our first mail packet from Kam but it did not come so must be arriving
tomorrow. He stopped in the little town
“market” and said it was expensive and had a little bit of everything, which is
what Steve had told us. He tried to get
the DVD player to work so he could watch one of his new John Wayne movies. We finally got the sound but no picture. I’m thinking the video cord is not hooked
into the fancy system we have. He’s
going to call the previous owner today and ask if they ever used it or if he
unhooked the DVD player when he removed his satellite boxes.
How Bill spent the day |
Once the rain cleared it wasn’t
as chilly out as we had thought. Our
walk was nice and there were several units in for the weekend which is supposed
to be pretty nice. For dinner it was
lean and green day, so I broiled venison burgers and make an Asian slaw from
cabbage, carrots and broccoli stalks. So
tasty Bill finished it off! Still
haven’t seen a scale to check our progress or lack of, but I have had to retire
a pair of shorts and 2 pair of capris so far!
My friend Polly in Maine called after
receiving our postcard that we had arrived.
We had a nice talk and discussed our plans to visit her. We will take one of our 3 day off stints and
head that way for 2 nights. She wants to
see wedding photos and the RV so will take my laptop and show her what I have
on it. We are both looking forward to
seeing each other and catching up.
