Work and more work

June 2 – Work today was 9 until 2.  I started with Barb but then she left 2 hours early to go have her arm checked.  She fell on her 3rd day here and broke her right arm.  Joe came in and took her place so I got to work with him.  Mostly I cleaned all the windows in the rec hall.  Not hard but did make the day go faster.  I answered the phone several times for the first time and that went well.  The biggest issue is the even their phone connection isn’t clear and with these accents it’s difficult to understand people.

Bill worked with Ron until he had to take Barb.  They spread grass seed and later Bill raked and filled in some low spots with dirt/gravel and along the “beach” area of the river.

We had lunch after work and Bill showered and we did some house work again.  It was finally nice enough out for him to clean the front of the RV.  I got on the roof and did the top down where he could not reach.  I also checked to see if there was any residual on the roof from the flooded tank on the way here.  We keep getting a “bathroom” smell in the kitchen area and I need to find the cause.  Later I emailed our RV tech who advised us to use light bleach water in the compartments where anything got wet and to try some light bleach in the tanks and then flush thoroughly.  Guess we will do that on one of our days off this week.  We have the next 3 days off.

The best place for cell and Wifi
Next I did the “simple” installation of the cell booster and it would go on then off.  Very frustrating!  Bill went up to get the phone number of the propane company that services the park so we can call and see if they can refill our RV tanks.  While he was gone I checked out how to check the meter signal strength of our cell phones for installing the booster.  They suggest mounting up high on a pole so I got on the RV roof and found the best direction but still didn’t seem that great.

Rick and Joe live 2 RV’s down and they have Verizon and suggested a “burner” phone.  So we headed to “town” and started at Wal-mart where we did buy a refillable phone.  Then we didn’t’ know how to work it!  We get 500 minutes a month and unlimited text so we notified the family and close friends to use that number if they could not reach us on the regular phones.  We get excellent service in some places when we leave this area.  While we were out we stopped at Home Depot for the hex wrench I needed and we ended up ordering a southwest design rug for the living area.  It was more than I wanted or expected to spend but it’s a really nice rug.  Will take about 2 weeks to get here.

Finally got home and had some dinner and packaged up the booster.  It was too expensive to not work and we only have 30 days to return.  The phone we can keep and use any year we get into a similar situation.  Now if we could get the wifi to work on a steady basis!

Used my new hex wrench to tighten the hook on the bathroom door and put the new cat toy together so maybe Molly will get some exercise.  We watched the season opener of “Longmire” and then read for a while.  It's a western show and this is the second or third season.
