August 16 – We were up at 8
and stopped in the office for a morning beverage, banana and granola bar and
one we had our mini-breakfast we packed up the car and headed out. Of course the first stop was to get gas and
then it was on our way to Bozeman
for our weekly grocery trip.
All was well, at least for a
while, until we came upon an accident.
There were 5-6 cars ahead of us and police and rescue vehicles already
there. We turned off the car and waited a
bit and then found out that is would be at least an hour before we could
pass. It happened on a small 2 lane
bridge. We asked for a way to I-90 and
were told to turn before the bridge to Joilet ,
MT and then north to I-90. It was quite a bit out of the way but Bill
rather we drive than wait and be delayed even longer. I was driving today because Bill didn’t sleep
well last night.
It was not a bad drive, very
little traffic and a few small towns along the way. Once we hit the interstate and the speed
limit was 80, I made up for some of the lost time! Bill was snoozing and had no idea how fast we
were going! He decided there was some race
car driver in me! We stopped once for a bathroom
break and arrived in Bozeman
at lunch time. Since we came in from the
east instead of the west we made a couple of store stops before lunch. We settled for Arby’s for lunch and that was
a mistake. The girl took multiple stabs
at getting our order right over the speaker and then Bill didn’t get any sauce
for his sandwich. The salad was skimpy
on the chicken and was just iceberg lettuce.
No comparison to Wendy’s so I won’t get salad there again!
We stopped at Bed, Bath
& Beyond, World Market, the after lunch we hit Wal-mart. We couldn’t leave Molly in a hot car and Bill
had a script to fill so we put her in her carrier (at great risk with her hind
claws) and Bill rolled her around the store while I did the shopping. She never makes a peep and I’m sure people
thought there was a dog in the carrier.
On the way out of town we
stopped at the Mall so I could go to Joann’s and Bath and Body Works. Then it was one more stop for gas and on the
way we went. We managed to get home just
after 5 and got everything emptied from the car and put away. Since I hadn’t planned for dinner we had
pepperoni pizza on flat-outs with salad.
I should have gotten on the
computer but driving most of the day I was pooped and watched TV and crocheted.
