Night out on the town, a very small town...

August 1 – Another month has bit the dust!  We’re still having nights in the high 40’s but since they are creeping up in temp, should soon be in the 50’s!  The mornings start off chilly, and eventually we open the windows and door, but around noon the AC kicks on, letting us know it’s time to close them again until evening.

After breakfast I did a load of laundry and Bill took his walk and some mail to the box and later I saw him mowing an empty site.  I washed the windows inside and took the screens out and cleaned them.  Then he did the windows outside and watered down the dirt he spread yesterday over the Vole (A vole is a small rodent; a relative of the mouse, the vole has a stouter body, a shorter, hairy tail, a slightly rounder head, smaller ears and eyes, and differently formed molars. There are approximately 155 species of voles.) holes.  When he was cleaning the windows he put his hand on the hard plastic side vent on the window and it cracked to bits.  I barely touched it from the inside and chunks fell.  I checked the one on the other side of the RV and it has a visible crack also.  Bill called Winnebago to order new ones but she could find the item.  He emailed her photos but as of 2:30 he had not received a call back.  He did finally get an email that that was an after market item and to contact the manufacturer.  He left a message for them so maybe tomorrow we will hear back.

We had made plans to go to the local dinner theater, Mack’s Inn Playhouse, with our
neighbors and co-workers, Sue and Hank.  The doors opened at 6 and we found out seating is done in the order of your reservation.  We were right in the middle of the row of tables towards the back but the seats were great once the show started.  The seats with their backs to the stage are just turned around when they tell you and everyone is then facing the stage.  We saw “Ramona’s Homeschool Musical”.  We laughed so hard!  It was of course, a spoof on the movie “High School Musical”.  Ramona was played by a man and he truly was the show!  Being near the Mormon area, (and he is Mormon) he did jokes on their life, the local high schools, local universities, politics; everyone got bit by the jokes!  They only serve 2 meats, prime rib and chicken and it’s done like a cafeteria line.  You turn in your ticket to claim your meat and then go through the line for fresh baked rolls, baked beans, corn, baked potato and the condiments needed.  They served lemonade and water and for dessert they bring everyone a “Fat Boy” ice cream sandwich.  When you reserve your tickets you also have to decide which meat as they prepare just what they need.  They “star” does this in the summer with his family in tow and winters in Southern Utah where he teaches and does a dinner theater.  They bought the land across from our campground and are building a new theater and other activities.  I guess we have to come back sometime to see how that turns out.

We were tired when we got home from laughing!  What a nice evening out with friends!
