June 10 – Our drive today was rather on the short side, however, the views were amazing. We began seeing our first snow capped mountains in the distance and they continued until we arrive in Livingston, MT. We stopped at a rest area where I could park and get out and get the shot on my camera, which is much better than my phone.
We arrived at our campground
and had a little bit of a challenge getting parked level, but found it was best
to stay at the back end of the site and all is well!
After lunch we went into
town. Bill said he was sure we came here
before and we realized it was when we volunteered in Idaho that we came to
visit Wilcoxson, the company that makes the delicious huckleberry ice cream
sandwiches. We “assumed” they had a
factory tour but did not. They actually
don’t even have a big sign on the building.
We drove by it again and nothing has changed.
We visited the Sacagawea City
Park where we saw beautiful black and white birds along with more geese. I haven’t checked my photos to see if I got a
good one or not. Livingston is not a big
city, but they have a very nice old downtown of shops and eateries. Bill was scoping out where he wants to eat
tomorrow.
On the way back to the RV we
stopped at a local grocery that was one of the best and nicest I’ve been
in. They had plenty of options for
everything and even an aisle of bulk items, where I got some coconut granola!
We had salad and chicken pot
pie for dinner so there wasn’t’ much cooking to do. I did decided it was time to descale my
Keurig as I was making a cup of coffee and the pod exploded and there were
grounds in every crack and crevice of the machine and all over the
counter. I spent about 2 hours of
cleaning the mess, descaling the machine and running enough water through it to
get rid of the vinegar taste. I guess I
should plan ahead and clean it before it explodes!
