June 6 – The wind died down today! I think it’s due to the land has become much more hilly. There are more piles of rocks along the fields and not much corn planted. Now with more clover looking types of green. Still many huge parcels with cattle grazing. Today there also were a lot of ponds, I guess! Not sure if they are man made or by Mother Nature, but all along the Interstate there were bodies of water on each side of the road and scattered along.
The wind stopped but the rain
made up for it! It was never super heavy
but mostly annoying to turn the wipers on and off so much! We arrived in Belfield, ND this
afternoon. The campground is very
convenient to get to and has full hook up long spaces but they are back in, not
totally level as they are a bit of gravel in the grass. There is no attendant here, as the
reservations are made only on line and they send a confirmation with your site
number and give you the WIFI code. Very
odd! If your power didn’t work I guess
you take your chance and move to a different site. They are pretty empty tonight.
I still had a lot of
rotisserie chicken so I made a chicken pot pie for dinner. Well, I made enough for 2 nights so that will
be dinner for another driving day! I
still have enough chicken for another meal!
It was very tasty and nice that you have all of the required meat,
veggies and starch all in one dish! A
lot fewer dishes to be washed – oh, that’s not my job but Bill is happy!
I called Winnebago when we took
a bathroom break today. I was on hold
for quite a while and the recording finally told me to leave my name, number
and a lot of other info and I’d get a call back. Here it is 5 hours later and no call. I guess I’m going to try calling again in the
morning before we get on the road. We
hope we can get an appointment the Tuesday or Wednesday after Labor Day. I also made an appointment in Missoula, MT
for an alignment as the coach is pulling to the left continually. We already have an oil change scheduled for
Missoula in the afternoon so we now have a morning appointment as well. Molly will get to ride around with us in the
truck all day!
I still have to finish mapping
from Iowa home but can’t do that now until we know about the RV appt., so I’m
at a bit of a standstill. Time to post
and get started on a new book!
