June 9 – The weather was beautiful today! So nice out and enough sun to not need a rain coat or jacket! After breakfast we left for Little Bighorn Battlefield National Park. I think this was our 3rd or 4th visit. There were a few changes to the monument area. The museum is small and it was pretty packed with people today. Then we walked out the to battlefield and checked out the new displays there. They had a good crowd when we arrived and even more as we left.
At the bottom of the
battlefield is Crow Agency. They have
several gift shops and one has as very good restaurant. We looked around for some postcards then
decided to have lunch there. Yummy! We both had Indian Taco AKA Navajo Taco but
these are not Navajo people. The waitress brought honey to the table so we
could tear off the edges of the taco and put some honey on it for dessert. The whole thing was delicious! Not a crumb left.
We drove into Crow Agency
proper to drop a card in the post office and headed back to Hardin. We drove around the town to check it out and
I made a quick stop at the local IGA.
The town was a bit larger than I expected. The IGA was great. I picked us up each one huckleberry ice cream
sandwich. This freezer is really small
so I don’t think we will be taking any home this year.
Bill did some cleaning on his
truck and I made caramel corn and helped Melissa via long distance get her
dates for meeting up with us in Alaska.
We settled on the dates and she booked her airline tickets and we are
both very excited! She will be with us
11 days! Gee, I will have someone to
help with the cooking!
We grilled on George for
dinner and I steamed some broccoli and we finished off the tub of potato salad
Bill got a couple of days ago.
what is this nonsense?! This freezer is really small so I don’t think we will be taking any home this year.
