Travel Day!

Our spot on the mountain
Captains Log June 9 – The plan was to be on the road by 10 and we made it, however, we have a problem with our leveling system.  The jacks are all up but the monitor doesn’t agree. So we had no choice but to get on the road and see what happens when we park for the night.

It was not a fun drive today.  We drove around Lake Flathead and that’s one big or just long lake on the side we were on.  It was rainy and a 2 lane road that was curvy and up and down.  Not fun for sure!  They apparently grow a lot of cherries in that area.  There were numerous groves all along the lake and then into the farmlands.  Too bad it’s not picking season!

We are camping in Hungry Horse for 3 nights.  Once we got parked, the leveling system was still not working so Bill put boards under the tires on the passenger side and we’re level but a bit bouncy inside.  I plan to call Winnebago in the morning and see if there’s sequence I can put in the monitor to reset the system.  If not Bill will call the mobile RV guy and see if he can come out on Monday.

We drove into town and had lunch at Huckleberry Patch.  They have a restaurant on one side and gift shop on the other and it was pretty full.  I think it was due to the rainy weather still going on.  You order at the counter and they bring to the table but the menu was strictly sandwiches and hamburgers with fried sides.  Not what I eat!  We both were ordering a slice of huckleberry pie as they are “known” for their pie.  So I had pie and water and Bill had a

sandwich with fries and pie.  The pie was thick with fruit but I wasn’t crazy about the crust.  Too thick and not the least bit flakey.  I think it’s frozen dough but then I’m pretty hard on bakery items.

Bill bought a few postcards and I perused the shelves of huckleberry products but most of it wasn’t labeled with prices so I wasn’t going to gather it all up and then take it all back!  Will see plenty more for the next 2 days.

We stopped at the small town grocery and got what they now consider a half gallon of huckleberry ice cream, huckleberry licorice  and a bag of sour huckleberry licorice for my grandkids  Bill equally divided our bag into 2 as someone eats it up so fast the other one doesn’t get their share.   I will definitely get another bag and stash it for later.

Not much to do in the campground and it was a bit rainy still

Foggy day

so we read, did laundry and I crocheted a bit.  No satellite service, no cable and possibly 2 antenna stations if we try.  Nada!

Kam flies in tomorrow afternoon to Glacier International Airport and I will pick her up and we will figure it all out from there!
