Doctoring and Relaxing

Captains Log June 8 - Nothing  really  exciting  today!   Bill  had made  an  appointment  at a dermatologist for a nasty spot on his leg.   He left at  7:30 this morning  and had  to go  to the other end of Missoula.  While he was there he went to Lowe’s for some wood putty so I can fix the bathroom door latching mechanism.  He picked up a couple of things at the Walmart, went to get photos of the Carousel.  It’s not open but it’s in a park but there is a building around it so you can't see it.

His phone was acting up and his navigation on his truck so he had to stop and ask how to get back to the interstate.  On the way back he stopped at Rosauer’s grocery.  They have them in Idaho and we love them.  He picked up lunch for us, which was a pleasant change.

The weather changed here numerous times today.  There were spells of sunshine, clouds, rain!

Kam arrives the 10th in Glacier to stay with us a few days and we discovered that we should have purchased a $2 entry pass 6 months ago!  Things have changed drastically and there is a daily lottery of 50 tickets so Kam and I have both been on the computer at 8AM mountain time, and tried to get tickets.  No Luck!  We’ve tried booking shuttle tickets and  tickets that you get a pass with your ticket but everything is either full or closed due to the main road through the park is still snowed in.  Kam discovered that we can enter with no pass before 6AM (not happening) or after 5PM, so we will go in after 5 the day Kam arrives and again the next day and should see all that is open.  Should be interesting!

I put some chicken on to cook and simmer this morning to make chicken and dumplings for dinner with a side of steamed zucchini.  We took a walk about the park and took some stuff to be mailed and checked out the gift shop part of the office.  They had pints of huckleberry ice cream so we got one and each had a small bowl for dessert.  We will get 2 nights from it!  There was a sign on the office door that the campground is full tonight.  The plant people prettied up the bed beside us but it’s not as pretty as the ones across from us!

Tomorrow we head to Hungry Horse where we are about 11 miles to the West Entrance of Glacier.
