Heading west thru Montana

Captains Log June 4 - I forgot to put in my blog yesterday that we saw quite a number of antelope.  Sometimes they are single and sometimes in a small herd.  Also we turned on both AC’s and the living room one just died!  It was just installed in August last year so we are not very happy!

Now for today!  Bill called a mobile guy this morning and arranged for him to come to our campground in Missoula the day we arrive as we will be back at the same place for 3 more days after we go to the Glacier NP area.  That way if he has to get parts it might all time out.

I forgot to tell my followers that if you like driving fast and furious, come to Montana!  The interstates here are 80MPH for cars.  It’s CRAZY!  But, on the other hand, there isn’t the volume of cars on the road that we see in the East.  I just do my 65 and let them pass me.  Truckers are limited to 70!

View from the RV
So today was about 4 hours to White Sulphur Springs, MT.  We are in a nice small campground with a view of the mountains out the front windows and there’s snow on them.  Currently the space in front of us is empty so hope it stays that way.  All of the sites are pull thru and they are Passport America, which got us half price for 2 nights.

Bill did his duty of washing the front of the RV again so the bugs don’t ruin the paint and I did 2 loads of laundry.

This afternoon we took a short drive into town to the larger of the 2 grocery stores and left with

Best Ice Cream Sandwiches EVER!

2 boxes of Huckleberry Ice Cream Sandwiches!  So guess what we had for dessert tonight? I had to shift things around in the freezer to get them in.  I hope to take some home to my family as I think they were a big hit the 2 times we did but it will depend on freezer space and if we can get them in southern Idaho like we did in middle Idaho.

Today we saw way more antelope.  Once hunting season arrives they go into hiding.  The land has changed in the last 2 days.  Instead of all flatlands with no trees hardly, today there were lots of hills and curves and way more trees.  This area is really beautiful country, especially when you can see the mountains in the distance.

We made some calls for RV parks as we’re still trying to fill in the gaps from not going on our planned Alaska Caravan.  Some places are full and some aren’t even open yet.  We did make 2 new reservations today so at least there’s progress!
