June 26 - This was a very unusual day! The new campground in Massachusetts was only about 80 miles and we
could not check in until 3. So we took
our time with breakfast, reading, etc and left at 12:15 after Bill met 2 Florida folks that
summer at the campground.
We drove to the first Travel Center
on the turnpike after exiting the interstate and had a late lunch there. I thought the 3pm check – was kinda late but
once we got there we understood. They
have a large open field across the road from the campground and as you arrive
you circle around in there and line up to cross over to the actual campground
in the order you arrived. Only 1 RV can
fit in front of their check – in without being in the road. They also want to send everyone in one direction in and then when you check out,
you leave in the opposite directions as they are so packed with spaces that
there is no one way in and one way out and the roads are only 1 lane wide. It’s a pretty big place with a pool that is
closed and a pond that quite a few were gathering around at least to sit in the
sun. It looked like some teen age boys
were venturing in to the unknown!
We have a pull thru space across
from the play ground but it’s fine. This
was just a place to relax a day before we make the last short leg to Connecticut .
