Great day out and about....

Camping World Fireplace
June 1 – The plan was to leave around 9:30 – 10:00 for Springfield, MO to the headquarters of Bass Pro Shops/Outdoor World.  What a place!  It is huge, nothing like a typical store!  There are several museums you can visit.  We went to the National Sporting Museum as well as checking out all of the live animal

displays, the stuffed animal displays, the bronze displays and the concrete displays.  We even browsed the clothing!  You can easily spend a day here.  There is an entire wing of the facility that is an aquarium but that costs extra!

Just a VERY few of the weapons on display
Once we did the bulk of our perusing, Bruce and Sharon introduced us to Hemingway’s, which is a full scale restaurant on the upper level.  It has a full bar length aquarium with 4-5 species of fish you can enjoy while you dine.  There’s a full menu or you can opt for the buffet.  For $13 for the lunch buffet it was truly a bargain!  There was a nice salad bar, dessert bar, bread area, 2 soups of the day and in the center is a round of fried shrimp, catfish, clams, pasta, chicken, enchilada and a couple of sides.  No one leaves hungry and you can bet the 4 of us didn’t!  We spent more time chatting while allowing all that food to settle before heading back to the truck.

We headed by to Branson, which is directly across Lake Tanycomo from Hollister, on a different route but with Sharon and I chatting in the back seat, it really didn’t make a difference.  We stopped at a flea market in Branson but most of the shops had closed or never opened.  Bill got a couple of little items but nothing really grabbed any of us.  Lots of nice hand crafted items though.

On the way in the campground Bill wanted to stop at the office and pick up new show ticket info and our 50 amp extension cord came, so that was good.  He put that away and I put a load of laundry in and got busy on the computer.  He went next door to visit with Sharon and Bruce.

Once I did a little catch up on my journal and expenses I joined the Bill, Sharon and Bruce sitting out and talking about everything under the sun.  Eventually the weather came up as it has all day.  Reports were for possible heavy rains or worse and eventually Bruce started closing up his awning and putting things away and we went next door to hunker down for what might happen.  Bill fixed a little dinner for himself but I was still SO full from lunch today.  I really am not used to having such a big midday meal like that.  I know it’s better to eat bigger then and snack for dinner.

I worked on photos and journaling and then managed to post 3 days blog using Bill’s phone to hotspot.  The WIFI here sucks!  By bedtime there was still no rain or weather.
