July 5/6 – We got to work
for day 2 just before 9 and I asked Bill if he had told them he made a Dr.
appointment for this afternoon. He said
he had and they were fine with it. So he
went with me to learn the routine for the bathhouses. We were barely started when he got a phone
call from the Dr. office asking if he could come in ASAP, so he said OK, headed
home to get the truck and stopped at the office to let them know.
So, I had to do the
bathhouses by myself. I could never get
to the showers as there was a steady flow of people so I went to the office to
get the keys to the cabins that needed turned over. I did 3 of them and then back to the
bathhouse where I tweaked the ladies and men’s rooms and got the 4 showers
done. I also had picked up the bagged
trash all along my travels on the golf cart and made 2 trips to the
dumpster. We are to always stop for it
as we go by any time of the day.
So I went to the office and
it was about 1 so I left for my 4 hours break.
I think I might like it. Bill got
home from the Dr. and Wal-mart just as I got in. He had stopped for a sub so he changed into
his work clothes and off he went for a hour or so. I ate my big meal for the day and did 2 loads
of laundry, printed some postcards and did some computering before going back
for our 5 – 9 shift. It wasn’t bad at
all, nice since it cooled off and we cleaned the clubhouse, sorted out the life
jackets.
Day 3 was even better! In the morning we did trash pick up and then
hooked a small cart to our golf cart and checked all of the fire pits on all of
the empty sites. We did left behind
trash at any sites and later we watered
the plants and Bill blew the sidewalks.
In the evening our job was
to chat up the guests and make sure everything was going well with them. We picked up trash that folks continued to
put out all evening and we did several checks on the restrooms. Late in the day is mostly making sure there’s
TP and wipe the counters a bit. We did a
couple of extra errands for Jean so got home close to 9:30 an as we got to our
RV Amelia who is 5 and 2 friends were
riding their bikes and going along in front of our RV and she let out a
scream! They all stopped and she said
her foot was bleeding so Bill went to her and I hurried in the RV for my
medical kit and a damp paper towel. It
was only a scrape and one of the girls went to get her grandparents. I swiped it and she calmed down and all it
took was a Band-Aid. Her grandparents thanked us and said she was a w drama
queen. They leave tomorrow!
After showers we both just
read as there was nothing of interest on TV.
P.S. One of my readers let me know she could not open the 2018 photo album. My technical support, AKA, Kam, has corrected that glitch in case you want to see more photos of our trip.
You’re welcome.
