First day on the job...

July 4 – We were up, dressed, ate and at the office at 8:45.  Bill went with the guys to the
Sporting Independence Day Decorations
garage while I left with “our” golf cart to clean the ladies showers and restrooms.  This is not going to be fun!  I do like driving the golf cart!  I also have to pick up the bagged trash from each site all during the day and take it to the dumpster, empty public trash cans throughout the park, deliver bundles of firewood, check the toilet paper at both the bathhouse and remote toilets throughout the day, check the list of departures and make sure no trash was left and whatever else they think of for me to do.  I cleaned all the windows (Bill helped towards the end) in the pool hall today.

Bill helped the guys put some parts on the lawn mowers and then he mowed until lunch time.  He rode with me to pick up trash and dump it and to deliver wood.  So I guess these are our basic jobs!  I think he’s supposed to help me with the bathrooms and showers when there’s no grass to mow.

Aerator after dark
After work we collapsed as it was HOT out today!  I fell asleep for a bit and eventually he started the grill and did burgers and brats.  I made a jello pie at lunch time for dessert and we had corn on the cob and tossed salad.  He’s out of ham so at least has something for lunch the next couple of days.

We sat out side a while, Bill more than me and Jean came on the golf cart and talked to Bill about us splitting our days with a long break in the middle and I guess work until 9.  That’s not a problem and might be nice but hard to motivate to go back, will see how it goes.

When the fireworks started at 10 we crossed over the lane to an empty site on the lake and

watched the bulk of the fireworks.  Shawn, the owner, did a good job with them.  There were some really pretty ones.  I took some photos but didn’t have time to properly set my camera.

I got back on the computer a while and ended up posting all but today!

  1. Hello Kelly and Bill. I am a Pastor from Mumbai, India. I am glad to stop by your profile on the blogger and the blog post. I am also blessed and feel privileged and honoured to know you as well as get connected with you and know about your adventures on your RV. I love getting connected with the people of God around the globe to be encouraged, strengthened and praying for one another. I have been in the Pastoral ministry for last 40 yrs in this great city of Mumbai a city with a great contrast where richest of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reach out to the poorest of poor with the love of Christ to bring healing to the brokenhearted. We also encourage young and the adults from the west to come to Mumbai to work with us during their vacation time. We would love to have you both come to Mumbai to work with us in the slums of Mumbai and then go around the places of tourist interest such as one of the seven wonders of the world that is Taj Mahal. I am sure you will have a life changing experience. Looking forward to hear from you very soon. God's richest blessings on you and your family also wishing you a blessed and a Christ centred rest of the year 2018. My email id is: dhwankhede(at)gmail(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede
