September 6 – Today we started
our day with eggs and the last scones!
That makes Bill very sad! He was
dressed and ready for his morning walk with neighbor Pam. I guess once we leave here he’s gonna want me
to walk with him. I need to but right
now it kills my back. Which reminds me I
need to make an appointment with the orthopedic guy!
While Bill went walking I made a
Blueberry Crumb cake at his request, thinking it would finish off the last
berries I picked – not! So tomorrow I
think I’ll use the last of last times peaches and mix with the blueberries and
make a cobbler. I hate to have things go
bad!
I did taste the crumb cake as I
don’t have the right size pan and “I had to make sure it was done inside” and
it was! This is such an easy one as it’s
with biscuit mix, any kind!
After Bill rested a while he went
to town to Wal-mart for a short list and to fill up the truck. Once he left I got on the computer and
started catching up on my blog and postings.
Once we get on the road again there should be much more interesting
things going on than the daily life of a workcamper!!
Today we work 4 to 9. My least favorite shift. The good thing is they didn’t want to waste
time training me on balancing for just 2 months, so once it really slows down
one of the managers comes over and I count the money and she does the rest then
we reopen the register if we get any customers.
Then I don’t have to start at 9 and maybe not get done til 10.
Bill had lunch in town as I expected
and I asked him to get a rotisserie chicken as we haven’t had one in ages and
it will be good for dinner after work tomorrow.
He was getting Lean Cuisines for tonight that we can microwave in the
rec hall.
Work was hectic tonight on and
off. Pretty much everyone was checked in, just a lot of visitors that we had to deal with. I pretty much crocheted and visited with
whoever was coming and going. Laurie
came and took my cash drawer early and balanced out and sent me home just after
8. Actually Smokey and Pam were have a
big fire tonight and texted for everyone to come over. Bill and I were the last arrivals and we had
a great time. So many funny stories and
sharing of experiences in campgrounds and trips.
We were out there until almost 10 when we old folks start winding down!
