Last day on the job!

September 7 – Today we were scheduled for 2 – 7.  Not a bad shift unless there is a balancing issue. Bill and Pam left for their walk after breakfast and Bill had wanted me to make a blueberry peach cobbler so once they headed out I used the last of the blueberries I picked and the last of our middle batch of peaches and had just the fruit needed for an 8 x 8 pan of cobbler.  It was in the oven when Bill got back.

I started packing up things and getting ready for our exit on Wednesday. Keeping Bill’s laundry done up is an ongoing challenge!  I bagged up my chair for Bill to put away outside and he cleaned the grill and stowed it.  He took down more of the solar lights we use at our door, so it’s pretty naked out there.

Linda and Terri were both in the office when I arrived.  Linda had an hour to go but since Terri had done all the cleaning in the rec hall for the day and the guests leaving had already stopped in and make their reservations for next year, Linda was told she could head on out.  There wasn’t too much for Terri and I do but visit  and sign in a few more visitors.  She got sent home an hour early and I was last person standing!  Bill was in and out as he didn’t have anything to do but bag ice and stock the big freezer in the rec hall.  We had one cabin check in and that was it!  Bill sat and visited with Pam and Steve for a while and he got sent home and after Laurie balanced us she sent me home a bit early as well.

Bill was sad but I was happy!  Now we have meandering time for our 3 weeks of travel back to Florida!

We had fresh corn AGAIN and our rotisserie chicken and salads and of course, Blueberry Peach Cobbler for dessert!  Time to read and relax for tomorrow’s packing and cleaning day!
