Trip to Rexburg

August 17 – Shopping day!  We took our time this morning and finally headed out just before 10 for Rexburg.  We had a few items to pick up for our co-workers and Bill was on soda duty if they were on sale.  I had quite a long list!  No workers at all at the pass, so we made good time!

First stop was Broulim’s.  They had some specials I was interested in.  I find is so odd that out here most of the produce is sold by the pound.  Celery, watermelon, cantaloupe; all sold by the pound, making them really pricy!  Next stop was Dollar Tree, then a quick walk thru at Albertson’s, nothing of interest there.

It was lunchtime so we stopped at Costa Vita and had Mexican.  It’s like Chipotle.  Very good!  Now that we were regenerated by a nice lunch, it was on to the thrift store where we got a couple of books and Bill got t-shirts for his work buddies.

Last stop was Wal-mart where we filled with gas and did our shopping and picked up a few items for our co-workers.  By the time we checked out it was also the appropriate time to backtrack to Freddy’s where we each had a single scoop vanilla custard.  We  needed fortification to make the hour trip back!

Once we got things put away, Bill delivered everyone’s purchases and we chilled a while before it was time to get dinner rolling.  I used my grill pan and did cheddar brats and hot links.  I had bought 2 ears of corn and mixed up a bag salad.  We were good to go!  Enough meat and salad for another meal, so I’m always good with that!
