2 – Back to work today! I guess
yesterday they decided to rearrange the counters that form our cubicle of space
in the corner of the Laundromat. It
seemed a bit awkward to me and Sherrie, who I work with on Fridays. The managers asked what we
thought and of course we told them we had a different idea. We all surveyed the space together and came
up with a new plan. Some of the cords
needed to be moved but the new set up is great!
We have a large opening now and its direction is where customers won’t
feel they can invade our space. We spent
the next couple of hours cleaning the cabinets inside and rearranging
things. A couple of the seasonal guests
were in for mail and commented on how much more space we have and how much
better it flows.
Other
than the moving, it was a rather slow day.
I did some crocheting with my down time.
We balanced for the day after finding one little glitch.
We
had leftovers for dinner and just chilled!

3 – This was a pretty typical Saturday!
We did laundry, cleaned the RV, Bill did some work for the campground
and I put a rhubarb crisp in the oven.
We had planned to attend a dinner fund raiser for Johnny Sack’s Cabin but
Bill said we were invited to a cookout at Toby and Berta’s. They are one of the summer worker
couples. He said I needed to make a
dessert. Well, I knew the crisp was not
big enough for 8 people so I also made a batch of fudge brownies with pecans.
I
visited Sherrie for while in the office and piddled the rest of the
afternoon. Dinner was at 6 so we got
showered and we headed over. They had
put up a screen room around their picnic table and there was room for a couple
of extra chairs. They went overboard on
the food, not that I’m complaining!
There were burgers, hot dogs, sausage, stuffed jalapeƱos, avocado,
burger toppings, baked beans, water, all provided by them and Denise brought
deviled eggs and an apple pie. Toby did
a great job on the grilling and it was all delicious! Sherrie and Mark were working today so they
came over after work and we got to visit with them until we left at 9 since we
work tomorrow. It was a really fun
evening with our co-workers!

4 – Sherrie warned me last night that there was a stack of departures and
arrivals for me today! Gina was on duty
in the office and she spent a good part of the day helping me. The Laundromat was full all morning and we
were super busy! Thank goodness it was
Sunday and there was no mail, UPS or Fed Ex to deal with! In addition to current reservations, we took
5-6 more during the day so were almost full by closing time. We had one late arrival who I saw come in at
10:30 after my last call to him he said he’s be in at 8:30.
Bill
ended up helping the family sort and clear out several storage units on the
property. They will have a sale next
weekend to try and find homes for stuff and took a big load to the dump. One unit has not been making payments for 10
years!! Bill said there are quite a lot
of items that are vintage and collectible.
Mr.
Ziegler from Windermere came in to say goodbye, as he’s leaving tomorrow. He thanked me for giving him some sight
seeing ideas outside of Yellowstone and for hooking him up with the guy in Albuquerque where he
booked 8 nights for during the Balloon Fiesta.
I told him we look forward to seeing him there! He’s such a nice man and also asked us about
places to visit in Utah and on the way from
there to Albuquerque . Bill showed him some of our favorite places
on the map so I hope he enjoys our recommendations.
We
had a couple of boo boos during the day on the register, so Gina and I had our
fingers crossed that it all came out OK, and sure enough we balanced to the
penny! Bravo, a day well done, and I got
out of there by 7:30; making it a FULL 12 hour day except for the 30 minutes it
took me to have my lunch!
You are the best.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Tell that to Bill!
