September
1 – Ten years ago today my children’s father died. I feel bad for them as well as his
family. I know it is a sad day for them
but he led a very full life and was able to do many things he enjoyed in life
and for that he was a lucky man. He died
knowing he had a family who loved him dearly and that will continue to remember
him and his impact on them.
Today
was very smoky out. We could not even
see the mountain when we started our day!
After breakfast Bill took his walk and I started putting some things
away and finding homes for things that we didn’t have when we left home. On Monday, our last day, after doing laundry
and cleaning we want to go into West Yellowstone
for one last “shopping” spree in hopes that they’ve marked stuff down. Will also make a stop at the hardware store
for another set of grommets for the stove top.
Our summer spot! |
The
square dancing groups arrives today and Bill told Sue we’d come over and help
clean the rec hall where they do their dancing.
Bill was out mowing so I went over and dust mopped the floor then Bill
came and he worked on a lot of the scuff marks and I wet mopped it all. Looks so much better. The owner and her son will put the chairs in
the way they need to be and he is going to cobweb as I can’t reach them even
with the broom.
Bill
went back out and did some more painting and I was just getting ready to get on
the computer when there was a knock at my door.
I had been talking with a passerby this morning and showed him a couple
of photos I printed as postcards and he brought his wife back to pick my brain
about it. She wants to do the same
thing, print and send her own photos. We
ended up sitting out and talking about that and a plethora of other
things. Too bad she’s leaving tomorrow,
such a nice couple.
I
put Bill to task at grilling tonight. He
did asparagus, chicken and giant burgers.
We ate the burgers and asparagus along with small salads. We followed it up with red velvet cookies.
Time
to chill, watch TV and read. Tomorrow is
a work day!
