In remembrance of 9-11...

September 11 - I bet we all remember right where we were and what we were doing when we heard the news of 9-11.  I was on my way to work and was at a stop when I heard it on the radio.  On a same but different note, I remember the day Kennedy was assassinated.  I was in elementary school and the teachers were loading the buses and I has to wait because I was a walker and the teachers were crying and we kids didn't understand.  Now we do, we understand senseless death and actions of people who hate something or someone.  Can't we all just get along???

The drive today into Laughlin/Bullhead City was not very long, but it was more of the same views we’ve had for several days.  Desert and more desert, the only difference was the traffic picked up and we didn’t feel so alone along the road.

Curvy downhill road into Laughlin
The approach to Laughlin curves around hilly landscape and down into the river valley where the Colorado River defines where Nevada ends and Arizona begins.  We crossed over to Bullhead City, AZ and to our rv park, Silver View.  It’s up a hill and we had a pull thru spot.  We were assigned site 61 and when we got to the row, all the spots were empty, EXCEPT 61.  Bill called and got a different person than who checked us in and she said pick a spot except for 60 as that was reserved so we chose 63.  We had to do a little leveling but we got settled in and it is so hot here!  The AC does not keep up in the living area but it’s cold in the bedroom.

We had not heard back from our friend Barry who volunteers here year around at Katherine’s Landing.  We thought that was odd as Bill called 4 times and left a message.  After dinner we drove over the the landing and found no one around to ask a question but we found what we thought was his new 5th wheel.  He’s from New Mexico and there was a truck with a NM tag with the RV.  I knocked on the door and no one answered so we left a note on the windshield of the truck.  We didn’t hear from him the rest of the day.

After leaving the note we drove into Bullhead City and paid Wal-Mart a visit. I picked up a couple of grocery items and some new kokopelli bathroom rugs and new Halloween t-shirts.  Then it was time to head home and watch some TV and have some huckleberry frozen yogurt.
