All I can say is, it was HOT!

September 10 – After breakfast this morning we did some cleaning and laundry.  It’s really hot out so we weren’t in any rush to dive into the heat.

Not sure what it is in front of
Westgate property
We drove to Westgate’s place and parked the car and took the monorail to the SLS property yo see it.  Not impressed.  The only thing I was interested in was the big duck in the pool area and they have security at the door.  You have to show a room key to go in even to take a photo, so no duck today!  There was nothing else of interest reasonably close to walk to so we re-boarded the monorail and got off at the Convention stop.  Apparently I mis-read what street we

were crossing over to
Las Vegas Blvd.  I thought we’d make a left and Taco El Gordo would be there.  Well, once again, the best laid plans were foiled.  We were one street further down and missed the restaurant and it was way too hot to backtrack!

After lunch we were pretty much done with the whole Las Vegas downtown.  After spending 2 months in Idaho in much cooler temps, we were miserable.  We did stop in Harrah’s to cool off and
Coll fountain along the Strip
empty our wallets!  No luck, standard for the day!  We boarded the monorail from there and went back to get our car and it was still there!  It was wonderful to get back to the RV with both AC’s running and cool off!

We went to dinner at Bushwhackers, which was a very nice

Italian restaurant that has been around for years.  I couldn’t begin to drive back to the Strip and face parking, crowds and a long wait somewhere.  Our meals were excellent, as was the service, quite a bit more upscale that we expected and full.  Bill had Chicken Parmesan and I had Chicken Saltimbocca.  Yum!  They bring homemade bread sticks but cut into squares

with marinara sauce for dipping.  Bill licked his platter clean but after the bread I only had room for half of mine.  Of course I brought it home with me.

Tomorrow we head further south to Bullhead City/Laughlin area to see a friend we volunteered with in Colorado years back.  It’s not too far so will not rush to get up and leave.  We’ll lose the gained hour also.
