Captains Log July 10 - Bill went to meet some of
the other hosts for breakfast and I had turkey1 of 4 kitties under the shed
Bill lured them out with kitty snacks
bacon and fruit and
relaxed! While he was gone I started on
my handful of sites for today. Luckily
only 2 were not empty so I had those done before Bill got back. He took a nap as he’d been up since 4:30 and
had an early guest at the door who told him there was a guy going into the
women’s side of the bathhouses in Loop D and our loop. He called that in to a ranger! Then he had a visitor confirming the day use
fee.
So we were off to a busy morning! The weather is still hot temperature wise but there seems to always be a breeze and no humidity, so we can sit out under our big tree. Bill was taking a break since he was up so early checking on the bathroom guy, so I was out and found a wallet and cell phone in a water proof zipper bag. Bill and I went thru it to find a name or number. The emergency contact person’s voice mail was full. There was no one on our check out list with his name and we don’t get a list of who’s in the park each day, just departures. We turned it in to the rangers and hoped for the best.
The park started filling up at noon with no vacancies. Most people bring their own firewood but we sell a couple of bundles a day over all. Lots of boats and ski dos. Luckily that means most of them are down at the lake all day so the park stays pretty quiet.
Once our chores were done for the day we sat out and watched the crazy birds.
