Day 2 for the week!

July 3 – This morning we were due in at 9 so it was cereal for breakfast!  Fast and easy!

Bill had a varied day as after bathhouse duty he was manning the water slide for 2 hours.  Surprisingly he had a good time with the little kids.  He finally got one little girl to at least get in the pool at the bottom of the slide so maybe tomorrow he can get her to climb up and come down the slide.  In the afternoon he called BINGO.  I think he enjoyed it for a change of pace.  They played 7 games and one lady won 5 so she wants him to come back!!

My day was a bit more boring and laid back!  We only had 4 check ins today after 40 yesterday.  During my shift I had 2 and then I worked on monies and paperwork collected for the 50/50 for Saturday and the “Duck” races on Saturday.  They sell little plastic ducks and number them on the bottom and on Saturday they will “race” down the Natchaug River that’s on our property edge.  Most of the money goes to the winner but a portion of 50/50 and the race is set aside in a special fund to buy new/more playground equipment.

There was a bit of a scare/excitement as a family let their 10 and 12 year olds go down the river on tubes and after and 2 hours got worried about them and called 911.  They had teams placed at our park and the other 2 down river and a river entry point.  Campers and Pam, this owner here, went in search along certain areas as well.  They were fine!!  They ended up at a put in/out spot between 2 campgrounds.  I think the parents expected them to just go a short distance and walk the river path back.  It was tense for a bit but all’s well that ends well!

With only 2 of us in the office today I did more of the cashiering.  After lunch I had a run on ice cream and candy so got a bit more familiar with the cash register.  They have a chart that tells almost every thing they sell and if it is taxable or not.  I know I made the right change, but hoping it got it all in the right category!

We got off at 2 and just had a snack.  I took a nap and later we finished the Chicken Pasta salad from last night and of course we had lots of rain again!  Luckily it waited once again for us to get inside before getting bad!
