October
4 – The plan was to gas up the truck after loading all our “stuff” and going to
Carole’s to get our stuff from there (now you could barely move inside) and say
good bye to Carole. We sure had a good
time with her and I know she was glad to have us. It’s always sad when we say good bye – Tucson is pretty far from
us and Bill won’t fly!!

It
took a while at the RV to get things loaded and put away. Bill found out the tech stayed late last
night to get it ready for us! They were
checking the tires as we arrived. It is
in need of cleaning so once we settle in Albuquerque
for a few days I will do my floors and all the counters.
It
was about 12:30 when we left and we stopped in Benson for fuel but we
miscalculated and I didn’t take in enough cash so it was only ¾ full. Later down the road there was a Love’s and it
was lunch time for us so we stopped there and totally filled up and I got us
lunch at Subway! Then it was back on
the road until we reached Lordsburg ,
NM .
We
stayed in a Veterans
County Park
dry camping! Time changed and we lost an
hour but that was no big deal, at least our clocks in the RV were all on time
again! I was still putting some things
away and Bill turned on the TV and the satellite was making a horrible
noise. I told him to turn it off. He then mentioned that he thought one of the
antennas was broken. I went out and
climbed up on the roof and one of the antennas is broken off AND the cover of
the satellite was dented in. Crap! I asked Bill to get me a screwdriver and I
removed the shroud and the mechanism did not appear to be dented or ca-ca so I
did the best I could to push the dents out in the shroud and put it back
on. I told him to turn it on and it
whirred around so I got down and we gave it a try and it worked! Hallelujah! So next I’ll order a new
antenna. Well, I ordered them before and
I think it was a pair, but Bill thinks I put them both on before!
So
we had some leftovers and a bag of kale salad!
Not sure where our next stop will be.
Bill thinks we can/should drive on in to Albuquerque if our spot is open a day early!
