The Good, the Bad and they Ugly!

August 10 – Another pretty crappy day!  My face was worse than yesterday and I itched most of the night.  I did go with Bill to clean the bathhouse and the Cadillac but the RV tech was due at 9 so he dropped me off just before his arrival.

Unfortunately the tech was not able to reset our night shade on the dash and a new motor needs to be ordered.  He did get the new sliding panel back in the screen door, lubed the big awning that was squeaking badly, put some missing screws back in that were somehow missing in the water hookup area of the RV, sanded and painted the part of the panel that was rusting badly and glued the rubber gasket all back on.  He could not repair the toilet valve so parts will be ordered along with the motor.  It’s a slight possibility he will be back next week, but more likely the week after.

After lunch Bill went back to work and I left for Urgent Care.  The wait was short and they don’t have a real answer for me but decided on another injection of prednisone and starting on benedryl.  No more alcohol, more cool face packs and wash only with mild soap and warm water.    Hope this gets me on a better track.

From there I stopped at Wal-mart for a few groceries, a new Keurig machine, mild soap and some aloe vera.  However, I forgot the benedryl, so got off at the next exit and ran into Wal-greens.

Really didn’t do much the rest of the day.  Bill was in and out.  It was his turn to buy pizza for the owners, the other work couple and the new helper.  It’s always pizza and fried shrimp.  Bill ordered it and I had a piece of my leftover quiche from last night.  He came home for a bit of dessert with me and took a short break and then went back til about 11.

I watched a bit of TV and read.  AND tried my new Keurig and had a HOT cup of coffee for a change!

August 11 -   It was a better day, hope I’m not jinxing myself!  I went out with Bill after breakfast and helped him with the bathhouse, Cadillac and portolets.  Then he dropped me off and came back for me at 11 to do it all again.  Then it started getting hot out and right now I can’t be getting too sweaty.  My swelling was down a lot this morning, but tomorrow will tell the story.  I’m concerned that the shot does great for the first day but then my body takes over and I’ll swell again!

It was a rather boring day for me.  I finished a book, did some crocheting and made a blueberry crisp.  Bill came and went throughout the day so I spent a lot of time with Molly.  Bill took another load of towels, sheets, etc, up to the laundry.  I hope we’re going to start slowing down on the poison ivy so the laundry slows too.  Bill is better in some spots and worse in others.  It’s been just over a week, so….

Bill had to work the front tonight and check passes.  He’s using his Deet spray as the mosquitoes are out at dusk.  He doesn’t need any other itches to scratch!

We had the last of the quiche for dinner and some crisp.

We got to tour a school bus that’s being converted to an RV.  He guy is a carpenter and electrician by trade and has done a great job on it.  He and his wife have 4 children and have sold their house and they are staying here probably to the end of the season while he completes the inside.  He had apartment size stove and fridge and a HUGE TV, a queen bed for he and his wife, 2 bunks on each side of the bus, a couch area behind the driver and is almost done putting the bathroom in.  It's really nice but tight inside.  Right now they ahve a portable AC but he wired the ceiling for 2 roof mounts but said the bathroom is more important.  He said eventually he has to paint it as you’re not allowed to leave it looking like a regular school bus.

Looking forward to 4 days to do some fun things and no more scratching!
